I am thrilled and delighted to announce that I will present at the Associated Builders & Contractors of the Carolinas 2019 Safety Conference. This year it will be held on Friday, February 22 at Great Wolf Lodge, 10175 Weddington Road, Concord, NC. Registration and breakfast buffet start at 7:00 a.m. My presentation “Hispanic Culture in our Industry” will kick off the conference promptly at 8:00 a.m.
This matter is one of my passions! Hispanics workers compose a large percentage of the construction workforce. Although the national average is 30%, we all know that depending on the profession, it can be much higher. The problem is that statistically, Latino workers are injured and even die at a much higher disproportionate rate.
I will discuss the reasons for this and how solid recommendations can create solutions. So many companies have a fantastic safety program and culture, but they fail to incorporate Hispanic culture and perceptions. Please join us for what I believe will be a very lively consideration and discussion.
